Building sidesway due to wind or seismic forces has no effect on TingWall™. Individual panels are allowed to move independently from each other, and from the structural mullion support. Seismic movement is absorbed via the horizontal inter-panel movement. Sidesway/displacement is absorbed within the space of the Outer Airloop without pro ducing panel or sealant stress. TingWall™ is designed to absorb a wind or seismic induced story drift of 0.01 (L/100) times the story height without producing panel stress. This is more than adequate to satisfy the .0025 (L/400) deformation compatibility requirement specified in section 1633.2.4 of the 1997 Uniform Building Code. |
